Education
The United Nations Association believes that early education and
teaching international affairs plays an important role in developing global
awareness and understanding. Educational resources are available
from early elementary through college level. This creates opportunities
and educates students in areas they would not otherwise experience.
Information ranges from peace studies to human rights issues offering
students ways of becoming directly involved in their community.
Several sites are available that offer teaching materials for teachers
as well as providing recommended readings for both students and educators. One of the best sites available is the Model
UN site, which offers students direct involvement with conferences held
every year. These model experiences place students in the role of delegates
from different countries. The
sites can be helpful in making the classroom a global experience at every
learning level.
